Bronte Beach is just over is just over a kilometre’s walk south of Bondi Beach in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs. It’s another popular beach along Sydney’s coastline and it is linked by a paved coastal footpath along the rocky cliff tops known as the Bondi to Bronte walk. Bronte Beach is a great spot for families to picnic on the grassed area behind the beach, have a BBQ or visit one of the popular cafes opposite the beach.
At the south end of the beach is a 30-metre ocean pool, known as Bronte Baths or Bronte Rock Pool. It is one of the best known in Sydney and it is definitely the most photogenic rock pool on a Sydney Beach. I love this location, it is like the rock pool was built for not only swimmers, but also for photographers.
I went to shoot sunrise that morning at a different location and I accidentally took a wrong turn and headed straight over the Sydney Harbour Bridge towards the Eastern Suburbs, so I thought to myself I may as well go and shoot Bronte Rock Pool. When I got there 25 minutes before sunrise I could see it was going to be incredible. There was already pink on the horizon so early on and because of this I knew it was going to be spectacular. It just kept building and building until the sky exploded. What an amazing sight, I just couldn’t believe my eyes.
In the end I got my dream shot of Bronte Baths. Click here to see another photo of the rock pool on the same morning.

PRINT TYPE DESCRIPTIONS
ILFORD Galerie Smooth Pearl – 310gsm
GALERIE Smooth Pearl Paper features the very latest HDR (High Dynamic Range) optically clear nanoporous coating for outstanding imaging performance. The high density heavyweight base has a natural photographic white tint to produce prints with excellent colour gamut and high sharpness.
The pearl surface eliminates glare and finger prints giving the true look and feel of a photographic print.
The photograph will be printed using UltraChrome K3™ ink which can produce archival prints with amazing colour fidelity and gloss level, while providing consistently stable colours. Incorporating high density pigments, Epson UltraChrome K3 produces prints with an extremely wide colour gamut allowing the reproduction of colours that were originally envisioned at the point of capture.
METTALIC Pearl – 250gsm
This paper has to be seen to be believed, it’s really gorgeous. It’s a high gloss media with a remarkable metallic pearl finish. With the right images it can really make them sing like no other paper – with a highly three dimensional look.
This paper offers exceptional image clarity and brilliant colour reproduction with a high-gloss metallic finish.
The photo is mounted to the back of a UV resistant acrylic glass sheet, creating an airtight bond and letting you view the image through a crystal-clear glossy surface. This mounting process preserves your images from scratching and fading and creates a near 3-D stunning visual effect. It also gives the image more depth and colour saturation due to the clarity of the acrylic sheet.
The image is backed with a white 2mm Dibond to add rigidity and use an aluminium sub frame to float it from the wall. Because of the different light penetration and refraction of acrylic glass compared to normal glass, the colours are more brilliant and the image sharper than compared to standard glass in a picture frame.
The image is printed on metallic paper for a pearl like finish. It comes with an easy hanging system and hanging bracket so you can put it up on your wall with ease.
The canvas prints are printed using the finest quality archival inks on cotton canvases.
The canvas prints are coated with an invisible polymer coating which creates a water resistant surface and further protects colours from fading. This finish ensures no glare or reflection and retains the texture of the cotton canvas.
The canvas is stretched around a timber frame and it is ready to hang.
