Here we have the beautiful Darling Harbour which is adjacent to the city centre of Sydney. It is a major tourist site and leading convention and exhibition centre. It has a lot of amazing water-front restaurants and its wharves are home to a number of cruise and function boats.
The day before I took this photo Sydney had an amazing sunset. It was absolutely incredible. First the Eastern sky exploded in colour, and then the western sky where the sun was setting exploded even more. It was a 360 degree colour bonanza. I was leaving work and walking across from Darling Harbour into the city when this happened. All I could do was watch in awe at this specatcle.
I thought to myself I really should of had my gear with me and then I could have shot this. So the next day I took my camera gear to work in hope of another magical sunset. Well this usually never happens, I just had wishful thinking. In my case I couldn’t of had a clearer sky the next evening. But I decided to take a photo anyway. And this is the photo I walked away with. This was a reverse sunset which means I wasn’t facing towards the sun, but the sky went a beautiful purple. It just goes to show, sometimes you don’t need a colourful sky to produce a beautiful image.
